Old laptops, desktops, servers, and external hard drives hold years of tax returns, client records, and saved passwords. KoboldIT destroys the drive data and returns you a friendly USB drive.

  1. We pick up

    Computers, laptops, external hard drives, servers, and loose drives from homes, estates, and offices around Rochester. Every drive is logged by serial number at pickup.

  2. Optional: Data is returned

    If you want, the drive data is backed up and returned to you on an easy-to-use USB drive prior to destruction. We will not retain copies of the data.

  3. We destroy and verify

    Each drive is destroyed using methods that follow NIST SP 800-88 guidance, then checked to confirm the data is gone. We will repeat this until all data is fully destroyed.

  4. Certificate of Destruction

    You receive a signed certificate lists each drive's make, model, and serial number, the erasure method used, the date, and the verified result.
